2 Simple Reasons:
1. Most GOOD domain names are already owned, and the initial asking price to purchase them is more than a business can immediately afford.
2. Leasing one of these names allows you to benefit from a premium web property without huge upfront costs. By making small fixed payments towards the purchase of a name, it ensures you are able to grow your business with minimal startup costs.
* Buying a domain name also allows immediate use, but requires significant up-front investment. Read our Purchasing FAQs here.
1. You choose a name you’d like to lease and fill in the lease request form.
2. Upon approval, we send the lease contract.
3. You sign and return the lease, pay a small setup fee and first month’s rent.
4. You tell us where you want the name pointed, and your new name is up and running!
When we start a lease, we identify an Option Price. This is a fixed price for the term of the lease and will not change.
During the lease term, the lessee has the option buy the domain by making all remaining lease payments and pay the Option Purchase Price.
This ensures that lessees can invest and develop the domain name without the risk of the cost of the name going up, but have the option to buy the name for a set price once the business is established and flourishing!
A name is listed for lease at $25/month.
The outright purchase price is identified as $2,495.00
|Period||Amount (USD)||Cumulative Total|
|Lease Setup Fee||$250.00||$250.00|
|Year 1||$300.00 ($25/mo)||$550.00|
|Year 2||$300.00 ($25/mo)||$850.00|
|Year 3||$300.00 ($25/mo)||$1,150.00|
|Year 4||$300.00 ($25/mo)||$1,450.00|
|Year 5||$300.00 ($25/mo)||$1,750.00|
Improper content cannot be published as it decreases the value of the name.

The leasee has the exclusive right to purchase their leased domain during the lease period.

Our leases have a fixed lease term of 60 months (5 years).
At the end of the lease term, the lessee has the option to buy the name at the Option Price.
If the lessee does not exercise the option to buy the name at the end of the term, a new lease can be negotiated.
